Dear PNA Community,
We are excited to report that our entire school, preschool through eighth grade has transitioned to distance learning to protect the entire Anchorage community.
PNA has postponed the in-person portion of the 24 Karat gala - our largest annual fundraiser that was scheduled to occur in April. We have a plan in place to run a healthy, safe participatory virtual gathering where our cherished community of families and friends can come together to support PNA. While our venue will change to allow you to participate from the safety of your home, the essence, atmosphere, and heart of PNA's annual gala event will carry on.
As we move forward, it is important to acknowledge that the 24 Karat gala is much more than a one-night event. While the physical gathering has been postponed, countless contributions have already been made for a fabulous event. PNA is indebted to and extends a sincere thank you to everyone who has been a part of our 24 Karat gala to date: volunteers, donors, sponsors and individuals who have purchased tickets.
During these unprecedented times, your support of PNA is more important than ever. With it, we are able to continue to fulfill the vision of our founders.
We ask you to do your part in staying put during this time, we all are in this together and our community's courage and integrity to do the right thing will help this pass as quickly as possible. We will keep you informed on how you can socialize and participate from afar during this new normal.
From the entire PNA community near and far, we are extremely grateful for your continued support and patience as we navigate these uncharted waters.
Respectfully yours,
Laurie Hoefer, Head of School
Keep calm, we are teaching on!
While the changes to all of our lives came swiftly, PNA faculty and staff worked tirelessly to make sure our students education and well-being remained a priority. In only two days, PNA was able to prepare and plan for distance learning at every grade level. While distance learning comes with a whole new set of challenges, we are in the unique position to offer some semblance of routine and structure in an academic atmosphere. This format also allows students to interact and maintain important connections with their teachers and classmates, albeit in a different form.
Teachers prepared educational packages for each and every student to pick up so they would be fully set-up when distance learning began.
