About PNA

Pacific Northern Academy serves approximately 120 students in Preschool through Eighth Grade. We are a project-based independent private school located in south Anchorage, Alaska, valuing 21st-century learning principles and advanced, whole-child education. PNA’s program also emphasizes visual arts, performing arts, foreign language, and community service.

Early Childhood Education Teacher (New)
​

Pacific Northern Academy is seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher for the 3 and 4-5 year-old class. 

 

Duties include:

  • Designing and implementing a developmentally-appropriate curriculum

  • Supporting the social and emotional development of children

  • Helping children build independence with personal care skills

  • Supervising and mentoring teacher assistants

  • Maintaining positive and professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.

This is a full-time, salaried, benefit-eligible position. The position begins on March 8, 2021. Salary DOE.

Teacher

Pacific Northern Academy is seeking several talented, compassionate, and creative teachers who view themselves as lesson designers and lifelong learners with a love and enthusiasm for learning.

Duties Include:

  • Designing and implementing developmentally-appropriate curriculum and projects,

  • Supporting the social and emotional development of the children,

  • Helping children build independence,

  • Maintaining a positive and professional relationship with students, parents, and colleagues.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as early childhood education, elementary education, or child development.

 

Prior experience is preferred.

Enrichment Instructors 
​

Are you an artist, inventor, coach, or tech-savvy person who loves teaching kids? Then we are looking for you. PNA is seeking individuals or organizations to provide enrichment classes for students after school, on weekends, and during school breaks. As a PNA Enrichment Program Instructor are responsible for organizing and facilitating classes focused on your contracted activity. Preparation time may be necessary outside of the course time. You are expected to facilitate snacks and carry out courses as scheduled. Substitute Teachers

PNA is currently seeking on-call substitute teachers for the 2020-21 school year.
