“PNA becomes a second home full of people who will always be there for you." - PNA student
Pacific Northern Academy students, teachers, parents, and family members create a community of learners dedicated to education. Parents are tremendously involved in their children’s education, as well as in the life of the school community. PNA was borne from a need expressed by the Anchorage community; its commitment to its community is deep and steadfast. PNA students understand their obligation to the communities they both live in and create; from their classroom community to the global community, PNA students know they have a critical role to play.
Volunteering at pna
There is an expectation of parent participation; opportunities for that participation are as varied as our families. PNA also expects its students to engage outside the immediate school community. Events like the Thanksgiving Blessing, or our two community service days, bring our students out into the greater community to assist, celebrate, and engage. Parents are always encouraged to join the students in these events.
PNA also enjoys relationships with a variety of Alaska's unique and distinguished organizations, from the Rose Urban Exchange program to the Anchorage Opera and the Anchorage Park Foundation. While these are more student-centered opportunities, they would not be possible without the willing commitment of the parents.

Join the community at Pacific Northern Academy by engaging your time, ideas, spirit, and talents. There are many ways to become involved:
Community Involvement
You don't have to be a parent to get involved at PNA. We welcome, encourage, and appreciate community members' interest and expertise. We have formal and informal avenues for community participation. Please contact our front desk at 907-333-1080 for more information.
Parent Ambassador Program
The Parent Ambassador Program is a collaboration between the Parent Association and the Admissions Office. Parent Ambassadors assist with recruitment efforts for the school by providing a "parent perspective" for prospective families. Parent Ambassadors also welcome new families to the community. To become a Parent Ambassador please contact the Admissions Director by email: admissions@pacificnorthern.org.
Development and Fundraising
Successful fundraising is a community event. If you would like to help with anything from auction item procurement to administrative support, please contact the Director of Development by email: pkling@pacificnorthern.org.
